Join us Friday 03 May at 6pm for the opening of the exhibition “Topographic Textures” curated by fifth-year B.Arch students Zain Islam-Hashmi and Gargi Lagvankar. The event takes place at the offices of GBBN Architects as part of the First Friday/Unblurred Gallery Crawl.
As head designer for CMU's annual Lunar Gala fashion show, Zain Islam-Hashmi has created his niche as an architect of fashion, who creates clothing and wardrobe ensembles with materials like resin, cement, and plexiglass. He has taken advantage of opportunities at CMU and around the world and has shaped them into something unique.
The CMU chapter of AIAS was named the winner of the 2018 Chapter Honor Award. Last year’s chapter president Zain Islam-Hashmi was named the winner of the 2018 Chapter President Honor Award and selected as a 2019 AIAS CRIT Scholar.
Fourth year B.Arch Zain Islam-Hashmi one of four winners recognized at the Ecolution Fashion Show this past month.
Each spring, the Epic® Metals Corporation sponsors a competition for SoA's third-year students to design an innovative project incorporating metal deck systems. This spring, third-year students spent the semester designing prototypes for a self-sufficient shelter to engage Pittsburgh's Environmental Charter School students in learning about the universe through celestial observations.
