“Pittsburgh Symphony” by Jeffrey Li (B.Arch ‘25)

“Pittsburgh Symphony” by Jeffrey Li (B.Arch ‘25), winner of the 2023 Measuring & Monitoring Services, Inc. Internship Fund award, in collaboration with Carleigh Cusick.

The Measuring & Monitoring Services, Inc. Internship Fund provides financial support to undergraduate students who wish to undertake a summer internship or related program under the guidance of established professionals during the summer preceding their final year of undergraduate study.

Carnegie Mellon Architecture will announce the call for applications for the next award cycle in the fall of 2024.

Mission

The Measuring & Monitoring Services, Inc. Internship Fund was established through the generosity of James Halpern (BAC ‘81) to provide financial support to a Carnegie Mellon Architecture undergraduate student to undertake a summer internship or related program under the guidance of established professionals during the summer preceding the student’s final year of undergraduate study at Carnegie Mellon. The internship fund recognizes the importance and advantage of being immersed for an extended period in the creative processes and organizational dynamics of an architecture firm, non-government organization, non-profit organization or CMU faculty member.

The award may be used to supplement paid internships, to volunteer for non-profit or non-government organizations, or to participate in a research project with a CMU faculty member. Funds are not to be used to compensate for unpaid internships. One (1) award will be awarded to either a third-year B.A. or fourth-year B.Arch student each year.
