Matthew Plecity

Adjunct Faculty

Matt Plecity, AIA, ASLA works as a registered architect and landscape architect for GBBN Architects / EDGE Studio. He has been an adjunct faculty member of the Architecture School since 2006 teaching studio in the first and third years. His experience working on educational and private institutional buildings and landscapes includes the Rice Hall for Information Technology Engineering at the University of Virginia, the Drug Discovery Building at the Scripps Research Institute, the Material Science and Engineering Building at the University of California, Riverside, and the Campus Master Plan for the University of Pennsylvania.

Matt has spent his career integrating buildings and landscapes for highly innovative sustainable building projects including the Living Building Challenge and LEED Platinum Environmental Center at Frick Park, the Tower at PNC Plaza, and ongoing sustainable design work on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University.

Matthew Plecity has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and Master of Architecture, both from Virginia Tech. He has been a visiting critic at the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State University, and the University of Pittsburgh. When out of the office, he spends time in Frick Park with his wife and two daughters.
