CMUThink Chicago: It Can Be Easy Being Green
Erica Cochran Hameen (A 2009, 2014), Assistant Professor of Architecture, College of Fine Arts
Ryan Sullivan, Associate Professor of Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering, Mellon College of Science and College of Engineering
As the world faces the challenge of a changing climate, understanding the underlying causes is critical to developing sustainable urban environments. Join CMU faculty members Ryan Sullivan and Erica Cochran Hameen (A 2009, 2014) to learn how they’re improving our understanding of and response to climate change through environmental chemistry and green design.
Erica Cochran Hameen, assistant professor of architecture, will discuss her research on developing solutions to create sustainable, healthy and energy efficient schools, office buildings, cities and public spaces.
Ryan Sullivan, associate professor of mechanical engineering and chemistry, will discuss his research on the ways in which air pollution changes the atmosphere’s chemistry, clouds and climate.
CMUThink Chicago is part of CMUThink, a program of the Carnegie Mellon University Alumni Association that provides intellectual experiences for alumni.
Space is limited, and registration is required. Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 3.
